HS-SBR- Latex – High solid styrene-butadiene-copolymer
The perfect material for highly-resilient products. HS-SBR latex is used in the moulded foam industry (e.g. for latex mattresses and the moulded footwear parts), as well as in the textile floor covering industry, where the material is used in high-performance foam backings for certain types of carpet.
- HS-SBR latex consists of styrene-butadiene-copolymers and is ideally used unfilled and used in combination with vulcanization chemicals. It owes its name – HS-SBR stands for “High Solid Styrene Butadiene Rubber” – to the high total solid content of the dispersion. Total solid content of ca. 67%, this is significantly above the usual level of 50%.
- Depending on the application, the material is crosslinked during the application process. This is mostly done by chemical vulcanization.
- HS-SBR thus enables the production of highly resilient materials.
